Hiking with park rangers or forest guides
Here you will find all guided hikes conducted in German. These are free of charge and there is no need to sign up in advance.
They are usually led by rangers of the Eifel National Park. These are employees of the Eifel National Park Administration and trained, registered nature and landscape conservationists or protection area supervisors. They are the best people to deal with any questions you may have on the spot. They will be happy to pass on their knowledge, not to mention any number of anecdotes. But be careful, as the park rangers are also there to ensure that visitors observe the rules. In emergencies they can provide First Aid. They also maintain the paths and signs and tend selected habitats.
Some of the tours, the National Park rendezvous, are led by forest guides. These are volunteer helpers who have trained as registered nature and landscape guides. As they regularly take part in National Park training courses, they are also extremely knowledgeable about the area.

The park rangers do their best to allow you to experience nature via different senses, using examples you can feel, hear and smell, so that all ranger tours and rendezvous will for example also appeal to blind and partially sighted visitors. As the tours do however sometimes go through rough terrain, we recommend that blind participants are accompanied. The hard of hearing can book mobile amplifiers before their hike.
