For the first time in the last 60 years, the former "Camp Vogelsang Training Area", is accessible to the public since the beginning of 2006. The so called „Forum Vogelsang“ serves as tourist information and gives an overview on the history of the former “Ordensburg Vogelsang”.
This area belonged to the Belgian military forces and is embedded in a beautiful landscape called, the "Dreiborner Hochfläche" (Dreiborn plateau). Experiencing the unique combination of nature and history of this area and the former “Ordensburg Vogelsang” leaves sustainable impressions. Visitors discover an unaltered nature spreading over about 3.300 hectares.
Enjoy the wideness of the open territory and broom heaths. A majority of this species rich, though not indigenous greenland areas will be recaptured by native forest step by step. You can observe the change of nature, so called natural succession, over the next years.
Discover the “Ordensburg Vogelsang” on two different round trips. The former village “Wollseifen“ can be reached via a marked trail, which you can hike guided by a Ranger or a "Waldführer" (Forest-Guide). The former is a three hour hiking tour, called Rangertour (R3), starting at 14 pm every Sunday from the Forum Vogelsang. The latter you could join if you are interested to visit the Park with an entire group. For further information contact the Serviceagentur Vogelsang (see contact information below). Specifically trained guides lead through the historically and architecturally interesting buildings.
Exploring the area on your own requires that you stay on the marked trails. This advise serves your own safety to avoid contact with remaining explosive devices. The National Park Authority has prepared all safe trails with wooden poles.

Winter time: 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Summer time: 08:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Tourist Information as well as the gastronomy is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Guided Tours and Prices:
1) Regular Tours for Individuals, daily at 2 p.m. as well as at 11 a.m. on sundays and public holidays, no application necessary. Price: 3 Euro for adults, no entry for kids up 12 years of age. Meeting point is the Forum Vogelsang
2) Groups up to 25 people, application necessary!
