Information on the Eifel National Park

Dear Visitor!

In the "Info Corner" you can obtain information about our visitor centers and the diverse activities possible in our Park. You can either order information, free of charge, in advance or check with the local contact points once you are here. The latter are certainly easy to find no matter if you are traveling by car, bus or train.

Information about the Park

The following informative broschures and flyers are displayed in the Visitor Centers, so called Nationalpark-Tore (National Park-Gates) and local tourist offices. Information material can also be ordered via Email using the Contact Form. Please be aware that most of the broschures are in german only!

• The current "Veranstaltungskalender" (Activities Programme, available in german only)
• „At a glance“: a broschure including an overview of the National Park and a comprehensive list of activities (available in german, dutch, english and french)
• Folder "Wilderness Trail" about a four days hike at Eifel National Park (available in German, Dutch and English)
• The flyer "Wandern - Dreiborner Hochfläche, Vogelsang, Wollseifen" (Hiking - Dreiborn plateau, Vogelsang, Wollseifen; a map containing trails and information about the former military training area, Dreiborner Plateau, available in german)
• Nationalpark Eifel - Newsletter (published several times a year, available in german)
• Activities in the National Park region of the Tourist offices (Freizeitführer "Erlebnisregion Nationalpark Eifel", available in german)
• Vogelsang_offen. A flyer of the "Servicagentur-Vogelsang" about the area of the former military training area. (available in german)
• The broschure "Eifel barrierefrei - Natur erleben für Menschen mit Behinderungen" (Eifel without frontiers- experiencing nature by people wth handicaps) of the Deutsch-Belgischen Naturparks Hohes Venn – Eifel (available in german)
• Discovery Tours ("Die Entdeckertouren") by the regional transport agency of cologne, Regionalverkehr Köln (RVK) including suggestions for daytrips within the National Park and the Vogelsang area (available in german)

Additionally, you can buy

• the official map "Nationalpark Eifel" (7,55 €; scale 1:25.000, ISBN 3-89439-694-6); No. of the map: 50 of the Landesvermessungsamtes NRW and No. 50 of the Eifelverein.
• the book "ThemenTouren - 7 Touren zum Wandern und Radfahren" (ThematicTours - 7 tours for hikers and bikers) about 10 trails within the Park. The book is available in german only and costs 12,95 Euro (ISBN 3-7616-2068-7).
• A second and third series of the ThemenTouren (ThematicTours) for individual hikers is now available. The former "Kurze Wanderungen im Nationalpark Eifel describes 12 easy to moderate paths through the parc (ISBN: 3-7616-2020-1; 12.95 Euro).
• The latter ist called „Der Wildnis-Trail im Nationalpark-Eifel" and refers to a new offer: the wilderness trail -a several days hike traversing the Park from its northern to southern border. (12,95 Euro; ISBN: 978-3-7616-2154-7). The authors of the three ThemenTouren books are: M. A. Pfeifer, H. G. Brunemann und G. Harzheim
• Illustrated books about the "animal and plant wildlife" as well as "moss and lichens" are avaibale are available also (in german only)
